Lancée en 2020, «Zohra HASSANI Shop» est née de la volonté de Zohra HASSANI de créer des prints, des vêtements et des marchandises en édition limitée, présentant une sélection des compositions personnelles préférées de l’artiste, qui soutiennent un éveil des consciences par l’introspection pour transcender les défis contemporains. Notamment en favorisant l’inclusion des identités transculturelles afro-occidentale.
Conçue et créée pour ceux qui désirent de l’art et de la couleur dans leur vie, cette collection offre une nouvelle opportunité de s’engager avec les peintures audacieuses et magnifiques de Zohra tout en soutenant l’art contemporain africain.

À propos de l’Art contemporain africain
Le concept d’art contemporain africain émerge vers la fin du XX ème siècle suite au mouvement littéraire Négritude et à la décolonisation.
Léopold Sédar Senghor, leader du mouvement Négritude, y critique le colonialisme et favorise l’émergence d’un art contemporain africain en accord entre culture traditionnelle, problématique sociale et style artistique contemporain.
Les artistes africains et sa diaspora explorent les mutations culturelles, économiques, sociales et politiques à travers leurs œuvres. Les questions de mémoire, de représentation identitaire, d’exil, d’histoire coloniale, d’échange interculturel, de déracinement, d’apartheid, sont des thèmes récurrents de l’art contemporain africain.
L’Afrique jusqu’ici absente de l’histoire de l’art contemporaine s’ouvre au reste du monde et revendique sa place par un enracinement à ses valeurs et riches traditions.
Les pratiques se diversifient allant de la peinture et de la sculpture à la photographie et à l’installation.
La création et le témoignage d’un discours mondial novateur sur l’Afrique, vu par les africains et sa diaspora, suscite un engouement international. L’intérêt des collectionneurs d’art et les rendez-vous de l’art contemporain africain s’exporte à travers le monde, de New York, à Paris en passant par Dakar et Johannesburg.
À propos de l’artiste
Zohra HASSANI (née en 1985 en France) est une artiste visuelle franco-algérienne. Elle intègre la peinture comme support d’élévation des consciences et témoigne de la dissonance transculturelle afro-occidentale. À travers une esthétique colorée mêlant abstraction et abstraction figurative elle inscrit dans l’histoire de l’art contemporaine une vision intime, sensible et subjective de nos mutations actuelles.
Zohra a organisé et participé à des expositions personnelles et collectives en Europe.

OUR STORY
Launched in 2020, “Zohra HASSANI Shop” was born out of Zohra HASSANI’s desire to create limited edition prints, apparel and merchandise, featuring a selection of the artist’s favorite personal compositions, which support an awakening of consciousness through introspection to transcend contemporary challenges. In particular, promoting the inclusion of Afro-Western cross-cultural identities.
Designed and created for those who desire art and color in their lives, this collection offers a new opportunity to engage with Zohra’s bold and beautiful paintings while supporting contemporary African art.

About African Contemporary Art
The concept of African contemporary art emerges towards the end of the XXth century following the literary movement Négritude and decolonization.
Léopold Sédar Senghor, leader of the Négritude movement, criticizes colonialism and favors the emergence of a contemporary African art in agreement between traditional culture, social issues and contemporary artistic style.
African artists and its diaspora explore cultural, economic, social and political changes through their works. Questions of memory, identity representation, exile, colonial history, intercultural exchange, uprooting, and apartheid are recurring themes in contemporary African art.
Africa, until now absent from the history of contemporary art, is opening up to the rest of the world and asserting its place by rooting itself in its values and rich traditions.
The practices diversify from painting and sculpture to photography and installation.
The creation and testimony of an innovative global discourse on Africa, as seen by Africans and its diaspora, is generating international interest. The interest of art collectors and the appointments of contemporary African art is exported around the world, from New York to Paris through Dakar and Johannesburg.
About the artist
Zohra HASSANI (born in 1985 in France) is a French-Algerian visual artist. She integrates painting as a support for the elevation of consciousness and bears witness to the Afro-Western transcultural dissonance. Through a colorful aesthetic mixing abstraction and figurative abstraction she inscribes in the history of contemporary art an intimate, sensitive and subjective vision of our current mutations.
Zohra has organized and participated in solo and group exhibitions in Europe.
